Preliminary statistics from the Chinese customs show that in July 2019, China exported 2.824 million tons of various mineral fertilizers and chemical fertilizers (excluding ammonium chloride, potassium nitrate and animal and plant organic fertilizers, hereinafter the same), up 32.6% year on year. Exports totaled $787 million, up 21.2% from a year earlier. Fertilizer exports and exports in July were both the highest in 2019.
From January to July 2019, China exported a total of 14.963 million tons of mineral fertilizers and chemical fertilizers, up 28.2% year on year. The accumulative export volume reached us $4.213 billion, up 28.8% year-on-year.
In terms of fertilizer imports, China imported 951,000 tons of various minerals and chemical fertilizers in July 2019, amounting to us $299 million. The main fertilizers imported from China are potassium chloride and NPK.
From January to July 2019, China imported 7.534 million tons of minerals and chemical fertilizers, up 24.2% year-on-year. The cumulative import volume reached $2.395 billion, up 44.0% year-on-year.
